Honeywell has announced a partnership with Google to integrate Google's advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology into its industrial data platform, Honeywell Forge. The collaboration aims to streamline and automate industrial operations, offering solutions to address labor shortages and boost productivity. The partnership will combine Google’s Gemini AI and Vertex AI platform with Honeywell's data, gathered from sectors like manufacturing, healthcare, and energy. By 2025, customers will have access to AI-powered tools that automate tasks for engineers, technicians, and warehouse workers, significantly reducing project times.

Honeywell CEO Vimal Kapur highlighted the transformative potential of AI for industries, saying, "The path to autonomy requires assets working harder, people working smarter, and processes working more efficiently." These new AI tools are expected to optimize maintenance, improve productivity, and help upskill the industrial workforce. The AI agents will help users process various data types, such as images, videos, text, and sensor readings, making it easier for technicians to resolve maintenance issues and for engineers to accelerate project design. Honeywell hopes this will support companies in adopting AI technologies at a faster rate and overcoming the current skills gap.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing AI in the industrial sector, stating, "Our partnership with Honeywell represents a significant step in bringing AI's transformative power to industries worldwide."

This deal marks a key development in the AI and industrial sectors, where businesses continue to face labor shortages and demand for increased automation.
