Nevada Reaches Milestone In ERP Modernization Project

Friday, February 21, 2025

Nevada has achieved a significant milestone in its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system modernization, demonstrating the potential for future technological advancements in the state.

On January 30, the state announced the completion of Phase 1A of the CORE.NV project, delivering a minimum viable product within just 15 months. CIO Timothy Galluzi praised the team and leadership for modernizing Nevada’s financial infrastructure. The project, led by CGI Technologies and Solutions Inc., is not just a tech upgrade but a full-scale business transformation.

Phase 1B, which includes the human resources module, is expected to be completed by late spring or early summer. The ERP system will serve as a foundation for further technological advancements, enabling improved data-driven decision-making.

Nevada is also progressing on other modernization projects, including the NVKIDS initiative for child support services and the No Wrong Door project, which simplifies access to human services through a unified portal. Additionally, the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Taxation continue to expand their digital transformation efforts.

The state is advancing responsible AI governance, with policies focused on ethics, transparency, and security. Galluzi emphasized the importance of collaboration, particularly in cybersecurity, as threats impact multiple agencies. By integrating IT into the governor’s office, Nevada is fostering a strategic, unified approach to technology and innovation.

“It’s important that we all work together and embrace this One Nevada concept,” Galluzi said.
