L&T Teams Up With E2E Networks For IndiaAI Mission’s GPU Infrastructure Tender

Friday, 03 January 2025

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has joined hands with New Delhi-based AI Cloud service provider E2E Networks to bid for the IndiaAI Mission’s Rs. 10,000-crore GPU infrastructure tender. E2E will act as the primary bidder, while L&T will contribute data center infrastructure to support the project.

The tender, aimed at creating a public AI cloud infrastructure with at least 10,000 GPUs, has seen its submission deadline extended multiple times, with the latest set for November 28. This marks the third extension, with the original date being September 6.

The partnership comes shortly after L&T announced its acquisition of a 21% stake in E2E for Rs. 1,406 crore in early November. The strategic move aligns with L&T’s efforts to bolster its cloud service offerings as part of its data center business.

E2E has introduced NVIDIA H200 Tensor Core GPUs to the Indian market, significantly enhancing AI capabilities for training and inference of large models. It has raised Rs. 420 crore to procure these GPUs, with 256 units already received. These will be integrated into E2E’s flagship AI development platform, TIR, which is set to be the first in India to feature H200 GPUs.

The IndiaAI Mission tender has drawn interest from major players, including Jio Platforms, AWS, NTT Data, and Yotta, among 30 other bidders comprising data centers and hyperscalers. This initiative is expected to drive AI innovation across startups, MSMEs, and large enterprises.
